About

The Center for Wisconsin Archaeology (CWA) was founded in 2013.  Since that time, we’ve been building bridges between professional archaeologists, the public, students of all ages, local historical societies and other institutions that wanted to create a community that was interested in learning about the past. 

We have given lectures on archaeological topics, provided tours of archaeological sites, visited elementary and secondary school classrooms, taught college and continuing educations classes, hosted events, offered hands-on laboratory and archeological fieldwork experiences and helps answer numerous questions from the public. 

What motivates us is our mission to empower present and future generations by making the human past accessible and relevant through archaeological research, experiential education and public service in Archaeology
